Make peace with your changing hormones and enjoy your best health

What are the Common Perimenopause Symptoms

  • Hot flushes
  • Breast tenderness
  • Worse premenstrual syndrome
  • Lower sex drive - libido
  • Fatigue
  • Irregular periods
  • Vaginal dryness; discomfort during sex
  • Urine leakage when coughing or sneezing
  • Mood swings
  • Trouble sleeping

If you are between 35-55 years of age then you are in the perimenopause phase, so what is Peri – menopause?

There are two phases in Peri – menopause

Perimenopause Phase One

Age: 35-45

Communication between pituitary and ovaries start to deactivate
You should not be experiencing strong symptoms – maybe a small change in your cycle

Perimenopause Phase Two

Age: 45-55

Your FSH level is starting to climb,
This communicates to the Pituitary and the Ovaries that they no longer need to ovulate

Symptoms can be more intense if the hormonal system is out of balance

In the last 1-2 years of perimenopause, the drop in estrogen speeds up, and women can experience menopause symptoms while still having a period.

More noticeable Perimenopause symptoms typically begin about four years before your final period. The best predictor of when your final period will be is the age at which your mother entered menopause (if she didn’t have a hysterectomy).

Then the finale
Postmenopause

Age 55+

Hormonal health usually follows the same curve. So simply explained it can be a smooth and simple or a more difficult troublesome transition

Smooth

If you hormonal healthy eg healthy, pain-free periods, easy conception ( if you decided to have children), balanced moods? This is a positive sign that you can expect a simple, smooth perimenopause.

More Difficult

If your hormonal health or that of a close family member is more troublesome then your transition may not be as smooth
